The spread of novel Coronavirus in India has called for lockdown in a number of states. While most of the private and public officers already declared work from home facility for most of their staff, the complete lockdown has mandated working from home for the rest as well. As the usage of data has increased, the customers are looking for interactive plans to facilitate the smooth working of operations.
In order to make this easier for customers, Tech giant Reliance Jio has come up with new prepaid plans for its customers amid coronavirus lockdown in the country to help those users who are working from home.
The new plan is priced at Rs 251 and can be found under ‘Work from HOme’ tab on your MyJio app. It comes with 2GB 4G data for a period of 51 days. After consuming your data, the speed will get reduced to 63kbps. The pack does not include free voice calls or any SMS.
The Ambani owned company is offering Rs 101 per prepaid 4G data with your pre-existing plan, which includes 23GB data and 1,000 minutes of Jio to other operators free voice calls. After consuming the data speed will be reduced to 64kbps.
Along with this, the company has also made changes to some of its existing 4G data extension offers. The Rs 11, Rs 21, Rs 51 and Rs 101 prepaid plans now offer double data that they previously offered. Rs 11 extension pack, which earlier offered 400MB data, has now been modified to 800MB data and 75 Minutes of calling benefits. Reliance Jio plans Rs 21 now offers 2GB data along with 200 minutes of calling. Meanwhile, the Ra 51 data booster pack offers 6GB data and 500 minutes calling benefits. Rs 101 plan comes 12GB data and 1000 minutes calling.
Calling benefits can be used for Jio to no-Jio calls, while Jio to Jio calls are free for cost. The validity of these plans depends on the usages of the customer.
The offers by Reliance Jio comes amid coronavirus outbreak in the country. As many as 80 districts have been placed in lockdown across several states to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Employees from almost every company have been asked to work from home.
Last week ACT and BSNL had come up with similar plans offering up to 5GB data to landline users.
